Matter Forms created bespoke Oyster[Crete]® countertops and paving setts for Silo: All That Comes In Remains, a garden designed by Abigail Stoyle for the RHS Badminton Flower Show 2026. Inspired by Silo’s zero-waste philosophy, the garden brought together food, landscape and material reuse, exploring how discarded resources can become part of the spaces we inhabit.

Our contribution translated oyster-shell waste into two distinct applications: a generous countertop and a series of smaller paving elements. Together, they demonstrate how the same material can work at different scales, from a surface for gathering to the repeated rhythm of a garden path.

For Matter Forms, the project extends our exploration of Oyster[Crete]® beyond individual objects and architectural cladding into bespoke landscape elements. It considers waste as a resource with its own visual and tactile qualities, where the making process and the origins of the material contribute to the experience of a place.

The garden was awarded a Gold Medal and the Environmental Innovation Award, recognising a design that brought circular thinking into both its concept and material choices.
